Dear Team II,
I am finally getting some time to quiet my thoughts and write this quick note (while eating some
delicious ice cream ...the thing I missed the most). Nat and I returned from Haiti this last Sunday
and I wanted to take the time to thank everyone for such a beautiful and most memorable
experience.
I do realize that this Team is very special and we did not come together as a team by chance; that
our desire to help make a difference in someone's life trumped all desire for those enticing vacation
spots.
It is easy for us to do what we do in our everyday life, but it takes someone very special to give up
their time and themselves for the good of others. While we may each have different personalities,
viewpoints and our owns quirks, we all had something in common ... something bigger than any
differences ... something that brought us together on this journey: OUR HEART! our giving and
loving heart!!!
I have seen you give your time, your services, your shoes, your clothes, your money and even
yourselves. I have even heard your frustrations about how much more you could or should have
done. Rest assured La Vallee is very thankful for your gifts, and looking at it from their perspective
you have given plenty ... way more than they started out with on the morning of your arrival!
But I'd like to think that La Vallee was giving as well in the sense that it gave us a vehicle to share
those precious God given gifts that sometimes are taken for granted and not valued (Law of
Plenty); it made us part of this emotionally and spiritually enriching experience. It also gave us the
little typhoid boy Uri to get us in touch with some part of ourselves that we had forgotten about.
I hope we all take this great experience and all these great feelings into our everyday life as a
reminder that it is not our differences, but what bonds us that matters! Do Good, Feel Good and
brush off the rest...
I want you all to know that I love you for who you are and I love you for what you do.
Here's hoping that this is the beginning of your engagement with this special place in Haiti.

Now back to business... Here's what's for diner tonight... Hahaha... Just kidding....
On a serious note though, please send us your ideas and a list of medication that would have been
good to have on hand (be realistic). I know some of you may have already done so, but for those
who haven't yet, please consider.
