June 25 - July 11, 2010,  AHDH's 48th Medical Mission: The largest, busiest,

most versatile, most blessed ever Medical/Educational Mission

Dear Members, Volunteers, Friends of AHDH,

Bonjour tout le monde !

Let us take a deep breath and let us try to imagine
65 Volunteers !!  (29 "vets", 36 first timers)

Enthusiastic, Energetic, Well meaning souls;

From diverse countries: Haiti, US, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, with the most euphonic
mosaic of accents.

From diverse states of US: West Coast to East Coast, Mid-West, Gulf Coast etc.

With the most diverse professional expertise: surgeons, anesthesiologists, anesthetists,
ophthalmologists, optometrist, internists, pediatricians, urologist, OB/Gyn, cardiologist, dentists,
nurses, ultrasonographer, rehabilitation technician, psychotherapists, Bio-med and electrical
engineer, videographer/photographer, IT expert, educators, medical office manager, premed and
medical school students, etc.

And imagine all the good they can and have done, when your AHDH's structures are fully open to
absorb all their loving, altruistic intentions.

And when AHDH, once more as in the past, makes room for our sister organization, the Health
Through Communications Foundation (www.HealthThroughCommunicationsFoundation.com), of
San Diego, CA, under the leadership of Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat, with their emphasis on post-
trauma/post-earthquake recovery and education.

And everyone bent on facing courageously the many challenges which came our way:

Intestinal perforation secondary to typhoid, emergency C/Section, cataracts & vision problems, a
diabetic with keto-acidosis and coma, ectopic pregnancy, septic miscarriage (Ab.), ovarian tumors,
prostate disease, training 30 people in the science of coping with Post-Trauma (earthquake)
Syndrome, art festivals for the kids led by a gifted 10 year old  from California, tapping techniques,
etc, and all the while performing our routine: hernias/hydrocele/undescended testis (at risk for
cancer), cervical cancer screening, ultrasound, EKG....etc

There is no question that it was the largest, busiest, most versatile, most blessed ever of AHDH’s
Medical/Educational Missions. Ten (10) domestic charter planes (blessed) flights were necessary.

Our Coordinators Extraordinaires, Nicole and Sophia gave all the love they have in their hearts for
Haiti, our country, for this success.

As the figures above reflect, 44% were volunteers returning to our mission while 56% were given
an opportunity to experience it the first time, all of them returning home with tens of ideas/projects
to improve our imperfect, work-in- progress program: HBP/Diabetics clinic, Urology procedures,
while some young volunteers were definitely discovering the full meaning of being a healthcare
provider (physician, nurse, psychologist etc.) and committing to be part of AHDH's future projects.

And so many already requesting to be counted for our Fall 2010 Medical Mission (November 12th
thru 28th).
Please, apply early.

Challenging? Overwhelming? No one would have any doubt about it!

But, to whom much is given, much is expected by Him .... (Luke. 12:27)

How to start thanking 65 beautiful souls, each one accepting so much sacrifice, staying late or all
night at the bedside of the sick to keep life flowing. I cannot start, fearing I will not be able to stop.
I can see you all, angels of mercy, giving so much of yourselve s.... quite beyond the sacrifice of
already just being there. It will be in every one of us a memory, the depth of altruism you
manifested. You are extraordinary souls.

We will attempt in our full report, on our website, in a week or so, with more illustrative photos.

For now,
Mercis, Mercis et Mercis !  You are all great Chosen Vessels of His Will.

Cordially,

Charles
