event featuring the world renowned Haitian band, Tabou Combo Saturday May 22, from
9 PM - 1 AM at the Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Boulevard, New

Less than 24-hours after the earthquake, the New Orleans Haitian Relief Task Force (501c3)
was established as an ad hoc committee to galvanize relief support from the Greater New Orleans
community.
Our work began with a broadly-supported public service campaign which was then followed
by a fundraising concert event at the House of Blues with all funds directed to the Southeast
Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross. With guidance from the Honorable Dr.
Sylvain Francois, Honorary Consul to New Orleans from Haiti, the Task Force will now
work directly with Haitian officials to address critical needs in the areas of education and healthcare.
At this very moment, it is estimated that more than 1.5 million Haitians are living in temporary
shelters and facing even greater devastation as the rain and hurricane seasons approach. In
what has been recognized as the most devastating natural disaster in modern history 300,000 lives
have already been claimed in the Haiti earthquake and the long term prospects of its people are
